Al and Marisa have known each other since middle school, so a hometown proposal made perfect sense for them and their story.
Al is not one for secrets so Marisa had an idea that he was planning to propose while vacationing back in our home town for the holidays. They had plans everyday, but for one, while they were home - so this was the day Marisa least expected something to happen, like an proposal!
Marisa had plans with a friend who had recently gotten married and hadn’t seen her and her husband’s new home. She went to her new home to hangout and catch up on the latest. Just after she toured their new place, Marisa received a text from Al. The text was a poem! With instructions! It told Marisa, "to go to a park in our hometown."
At that moment she knew. Her friend tried to play it off as a late birthday gift, but Marisa knew she was full of it. We went to the park and Al met Marisa at the car. He had HUGE lit letters set up that said "Marry Me." Al walked her over to the letters, got down on one knee, and proposed. Marisa said yes! The rest of the evening was a celebration with friends and family.
