moments

The first time Al saw Marisa, his heart whispered, “that’s the one.” The middle school sweethearts said “I Do” this year.

Nearly fifteen years ago, Al asked Marisa to their 8th grade Valentines Dance. He declared his love for her at the Valentines Dance and asked her to be his girlfriend. Marisa accepted. They would talk for hours about the future and about being in love forever.

However, it ended up taking quite a bit of waiting for Marisa and Al to make it to the altar. The young couple went to different high schools and lost touch, watching each other grow up through their family and friends at church. They reconnected in college through mutual friends and instantly rekindled their 8th grade feelings for each other – you know the ones, butterflies in your stomach, everything in the universe is right, and you think about each other constantly?

Theirs is a friendship that caught fire and became love.

Al proposed at the local park where they had grown up, and they enjoyed a 17-month engagement planning their modern, art deco style wedding. With accents in gold geometric shapes and opulent finishes, the reception oozed luxury with hints of glamour. Contrasting pale shades of blush with burgundy and gold helped captivate the essence of Marisa and Al’s design taste.

Somethings that start in middle school last a lifetime!
